Emergency Services - ES Training - First Aid
One of the basic requirements of Emergency Services is First Aid Certification. Civil Air Patrol will accept any recognized First Aid Certification you have received, as long as it includes an in-person, hands-on evaluation. If you have certification from The American Red Cross, The American Heart Association, EMT Training...etc...please upload your certificates as "Other" in eServices Ops Qualifications.
If you haven't received First Aid training previously, we have an option that can be accessed in a three-part training; one section is online, the other two are an in-person practice and skills evaluation session. The training is calledHeartsaver® First Aid.

This is part one of a three part series - part two is practice with an instructor and part three is the actual skills test. The practice and skills tests are identical to what the students would perform in a traditional classroom presentation. Students can purchase the course (Part 1) and take it at their leisure. They will have access to the information in the course for two years (so they can review anytime they would like a refresher). Within 60 days of completion, they will need to have the practice and skills test. This part would take up to 1 hour. We will offer the practice and skills test at specified meetings for cadets/seniors who have completed the class.
Total cost for all three parts of the First Aid Course is $43. $15 is payable for the Online section. $28 is payable when you do your practice/evaluation to cover supplies and the ID card stating you have completed course requirements.
If you have any questions, please ask the Emergency Services Officer for more details.
